Setting up a headset for children
- Check the age guidance. Meta says Quest headsets are for ages 10 and up. Children aged 10 to 12 need a parent managed account, which you set up from your own Meta account.
- Set up on Christmas Eve. A new headset often needs updates when it is first switched on, so charge it, update it and create the accounts before the big day.
- Clear a safe space. Move furniture and pets out of the way and set the play boundary carefully.
- Keep sessions short at first. Agree time limits and take regular breaks.
