Tennis League VR
Tennis League VR
A VR tennis game that launched in April 2023 with genuinely good physics, a career mode, and the inventive Droid Rush mode. Reviewed positively at launch. Received its last update in June 2023 and has since gone silent, with multiplayer reported as non-functional and no developer communication.
Multiplayer: reported broken
Tennis League VR was developed by AnotheReality, a Milan-based XR studio, with funding partner HIP (Health Improvement Products). It began as a gym training simulator before evolving into a consumer VR tennis game, releasing on Meta Quest on April 20, 2023 at $19.99 with a PEGI 3 rating.
At launch, the reviews were genuinely positive. WayTooManyGames called it "ALMOST the perfect VR tennis game — its physics are fantastic. Its controls are juicy, responsive, enough to fool your brain into thinking you're actually playing a match in Wimbledon." Rapid Reviews UK praised the "easy to learn and hard to master" structure. 6DOF Reviews called it "the best tennis game on Quest" at the time. The career mode, ball cannon practice system, two-player physics modes (Arcade and Simulation), and the wildly creative Droid Rush tower defence mode all drew positive attention.
The main launch criticism from reviewers was the wrist-flick cue mechanic: UploadVR noted it "requires flicking your wrists instead of swinging properly to keep tennis balls on the court," which felt less physically immersive than true full-arm swing tennis games. Serving was also flagged as finicky by Terminal Gamer. These were caveats, not dealbreakers, at launch.
