Automobilista 2 (AMS2) is developed by Reiza Studios, a Brazilian studio that has been releasing racing simulators since 2011, building on the highly regarded Stock Car Extreme and the original Automobilista. AMS2 represents the culmination of nearly a decade of development, running on the Madness Engine (originally developed for Project CARS, significantly modified by Reiza for its own physics, weather, and dynamic track surface goals).

What sets AMS2 apart is sheer breadth. One Steam reviewer summed it up: "There is a ton of content and variety, especially for the price, especially when on sale. I've had many friends get into AMS2 who previously thought they could never enjoy a sim racing game." The content spans everything from Brazilian Stock Car racing (a series most Western sim racers have never experienced) to historic Formula racing across multiple decades, to GT3, prototypes, rallycross, karts, and even oversized "super trucks with jump ramps."

LiveTrack technology simulates dynamic weather, evolving grip levels, and rubbering-in racing lines as a session progresses — track conditions genuinely change as you and the AI drive on them. Reiza has committed to monthly content updates through 2025 and beyond, with new cars, tracks, and physics refinements added continuously.
