ForeVR Pool is developed by ForeVR Games Inc, the studio behind the growing "ForeVRverse" of party sports titles on Meta Quest — a shared universe of bowling, darts, cornhole, and now pool, all featuring the same art style, social infrastructure, and avatar system. Released in November 2022, it is rated PEGI 3 and available on both Meta Quest (standalone, no PC required) and Steam.
The game's core is 8-ball pool (American rules, solids and stripes) with 9-ball also available. The physics engine handles spin, power, and ball-on-ball collisions with genuine accuracy — reviewers consistently praise the way shots behave realistically once you learn the cue action, with GamingPizza noting the physics "mimick shots' spin and angles" impressively. The cue action itself requires a slight VR-specific adaptation: rather than holding the cue alongside your body as in real life, you hold your aiming hand forward, which most players find becomes natural quickly but does depart from authentic cue technique.
ForeVR Pool includes a three-level aim assist system that teachers can configure for different ability levels within the same class:
High: Shows the full shot line from cue ball through target ball to pocket, including deflection. Ideal for complete newcomers who have never played pool.
Medium: Shows the line to the target ball but not the ball's subsequent path. Requires the player to visualise the deflection angle themselves.
Off: No assistance. The player must judge spin, power, and angle entirely from experience. As close to real pool as the game gets.
