Edda Physics 1

Overview

Edda Physics 1 is a VR physics education app developed by Swedish company Edda Knowledge AB. It’s designed to transform complex scientific concepts into engaging, hands-on learning experiences using scientifically robust pedagogical methods.

Six Interactive Labs

The app contains six fully interactive physics laboratories covering:

  • Archimedes’ Principle (buoyancy and fluid dynamics)
  • Newton’s Laws of Motion (fundamental principles of movement)
  • Nuclear Physics (atomic energy and decay chains)
  • Theory of Relativity (time dilation and simultaneity)
  • Coriolis Effect (forces affecting weather patterns and ocean currents)
  • Coulomb’s Law (electric charges and interactions)

Educational Design

Each lab is fully interactive, allowing users to manipulate variables and observe real-time results. The platform bridges the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application through immersive VR experiences, making abstract physics concepts tangible and accessible.

Platform Support

The app works on all major VR platforms including Meta Quest, HTC Vive, Pico, Windows Mixed Reality headsets, and any OpenXR-compatible device. It’s available on both the Meta Quest Store and Steam.

School License Features

For educational institutions, the School License includes lesson plans, teacher dashboards, assessment tools, professional development sessions, and collaboration features like screen sharing through a web browser using 4-character sharing codes.

Release

The app was launched on November 25, 2024, and is aligned with physics curriculum standards.
