Demeo

Developer & Origins: Developed by Swedish studio Resolution Games and originally released in May 2021 on Oculus Quest and PC VR. It draws inspiration from classic tabletop games like Dungeons & Dragons and Magic: The Gathering.

Gameplay: A co-operative, turn-based RPG dungeon crawler for up to four players. Each player controls a hero — choosing from the Guardian, Assassin, Sorcerer, Hunter, Bard, Warlock, or Barbarian — each with unique abilities, working together to fight through monster-filled floors and reach the Nevermost Catacombs.

Platforms: Available on Meta Quest, Steam, PSVR2, Pico, Apple Vision Pro, and Samsung Galaxy XR, with full cross-play across all platforms. It’s also optimised for Steam Deck.

Social Features: A dedicated Heroes’ Hangout social space lets players meet between adventures, paint miniatures, play mini-games, and customise avatars.

Awards: Nominated for Immersive Reality Game of the Year at the D.I.C.E. Awards 2022 and the SXSW Gaming Awards 2022. It holds an 87% positive rating on Steam.

Expansions & Sequels: A competitive spin-off, Demeo Battles, launched in November 2023. An officially licensed D&D crossover, Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked, launched November 20, 2025 at $29.99, featuring classic D&D classes and campaigns.
