Le Dino Labo
What it is Le Dino Labo is a mixed reality 3D puzzle game where you rebuild prehistoric dinosaur skeletons bone by bone in your own space.
Platform & Price It is available exclusively on Meta Quest via the Meta Horizon Store, priced at $4.99 / €4.99 / £4.49.
Developer Le Dino Labo is made by Realcast, an award-winning XR studio also known for titles like Just Hoops, Hide The Corpse, Insurrection 1944, and The Adventure of Hangar Y.
Gameplay Using full hand tracking, players can examine, rotate, and piece together fossilized remains right in their own environment. Once built, each dinosaur appears at its full life size, transforming any space into a personalized paleontology lab.
Dinosaurs Included The game features five dinosaurs: the Pteranodon, Styracosaurus, Parasaurolophus, Spinosaurus, and the T-Rex. Each dinosaur is made up of around 100 pieces, broken up into multiple packs to keep things manageable.
Difficulty & Audience Every skeleton has its own scale, bone count, and level of challenge, with difficulty settings tailored for families, casual players, or puzzle veterans.
Recognition The title earned an Honorable Mention for “Best Casual Experience” at the Meta Horizon Start Developer Competition.
Future Plans Realcast plans to expand with new packs categorised by era, environment, or anatomy, alongside deeper skeletal interaction and improved room-scale integration. The studio also envisions professional and educational applications for museums, cultural institutions, and interactive venues.
Reviewer Take One reviewer noted that while identifying and placing larger, unique bones is enjoyable, the many small near-identical pieces can lead to frustrating trial and error. However, seeing the finished skeleton at realistic scale in your room highlights the game’s educational ambitions — particularly appealing to dinosaur-obsessed children.
